The company started with selling early-model mobile phones and the accessories. As the demand increases, the company includes PC upgrade and repair services as well. Orcon group commenced as an ISP with three dial-in 33.6k modems in 1997. And in 2002, the company became an ISP in the residential market. In March 2008, Orcon also became the first ISP to provide ADSL+ commercially.

Orcon was the first retailer to provide fibre as part of UFB. Orcon delivers the telecommunications over fibre in partnership with another internet service provider, Watchdog Corporation Ltd. In June 2013, the company launched a smartphone app named Genius Go. It allows the users to make and receive local landline calls to the home phone via their smartphone from anywhere in the world.

On 12 June 2007, a state-owned telecommunications company named Kordia purchased Orcon. But now, the company is owned by Vocus Group. The key person of the company is Mark Callander.
